Missed opportunity: Bobby Zamora failed to shine

Whether the Italian still sees Zamora as the alternative to Wayne Rooney while he is serving his suspension remains to be seen.

He might get another chance but this performance was not terribly encouraging, and that is a concern when this 4-3-3 formation seems to work for England whether they go defensive, like they did against Spain, or opt for a more ambitious approach. Welbeck could be the answer, as could Darren Bent.
