Flashpoint: The alleged racist comment was made during the QPR v Chelsea game on October 23

But this is a situation which is gathering momentum day after day. On Wednesday Baron Ouseley, chairman of the Kick It Out campaign, called on Chelsea to take further action against the fans responsible for the  distasteful song about Ferdinand.

UEFA have said Chelsea are very unlikely to face disciplinary procedures over the chanting. Neither the match delegate nor referee Svein Oddvar Moen mentioned the incident in their reports.
