Firm favourite: Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho
Madrid under Mourinho are the runaway leaders of La Liga and taking the title would add a Spanish championship medal to those he already has from Portugal, England and Italy.
If the Special One can knock Barcelona off their perch in the league then the challenge of reviving England will appeal.
Mourinho has come close to taking the job before.
He was approached after Steve McClaren was sacked in 2008 and admitted later: 'I was hours away. I almost signed up for the English national side.'
Mourinho has told friends he wants a job in England next season and was pictured on a house-hunting trip to London last week.
