Redknapp: I love Spurs but I'd have to listen to England offer
Dream team: Could Harry Redknapp and Scott Parker be the next England manager and captain?

'Let's not kid ourselves,' he said. 'It is aggravation. You know what is coming. There have been a lot of great managers and when someone like Capello finds it hard going, it has got to be hard going.'

Redknapp paid tribute to club chairman Daniel Levy for his support during the trial. 'This was going on when Daniel offered me the job here,' he said.

'So I'm not pushing Daniel into talking about anything.'

He seemed to rule out doing the England job on a part-time basis or just for Euro 2012, saying: 'You are only walking in and it has been another person's team.

'It's probably difficult to do both. It's hard enough managing a league club… managing your country as well… your focus has to be on one job.
