There has already been a major shift, with 15 of the 23 members of the 2010 World Cup squad not included in the last party, but there could be further changes under Capello between now and the European Championship should England qualify by gaining a point in Montenegro next month.

England, as Capello admitted, were poor on Tuesday, the one shot on goal — Ashley Young’s winner — a statistic that made it the most uninspiring game of any of the 197 so far contested in UEFA’s qualifying competition.
