Rooney can be our Pele! Hodgson calls for 'greatness' in crunch clash with Ukraine
Just looking: England were not allowed to train in the stadium in Donetsk due to the recent poor weather

The Manchester United striker returns to the team after missing the first two games of Euro
2012 because of a ban for a red card against Montenegro last October. He is expected to replace Andy Carroll and spearhead the attack with his United team-mate Danny Welbeck.

Rooney has not shone in a major tournament since he was a teenager in Euro 2004 and with the manager's lofty comparisons came warnings about his temperament.

'It won't be just myself making that point,' said Hodgson. 'I'm sure the players will be keen to remind him that what we require from him is a good team performance. We want him to help us and make us a better team. I don't have any fears.

'He knows how important the occasion is, not just for him but, more importantly, he knows how important it is for his team-mates.'
