Wayne Rooney is ready to end years of bitter disappointment at major tournaments and take Euro 2012 by storm.
Rooney will return to the England side against Ukraine on Tuesday night after serving his two-match ban and accepts that he failed to deliver at the last two World Cups.
'In international tournaments I haven't been good enough,' he said here on Sunday at their Polish base.

'I hope I can put it right. I hope I can play and score because I feel there's more to come from me in tournament football. I'll be ready.'
Rooney believes England can 'go far', adding: 'We've got the squad, we're more organised than we have been for as long as I've been in the squad and we are hard to beat now.
'There's no reason why we can't go really far and be in with a shout of winning it. I think we're good enough to win it.'
