Ukraine chief takes swipe at England by accusing them of racism over Rio

England have been accused of racism for leaving Rio Ferdinand out of their Euro 2012 squad.

Ukraine’s FA president Grygory Surkis attacked British media coverage of alleged racism at the tournament and claimed Ferdinand’s absence from the squad was due to the allegations that John Terry made racist comments to Ferdinand’s brother Anton.

Terry will appear in court next month on a racially-aggravated  public order charge he strenuously denies.

‘You can’t criticise us if you have not eradicated racism yourselves,’ said Surkis in Kiev.
