Off they go: The England team bus leaves for training
Posted Wednesday, June 13, 2012 by Dailymail

Wayne Rooney lead the way as Roy Hodgson's men were back in training less than 24 hours after holding France to an opening Euro 2012 draw.

Preparations are already underway ahead of Friday's must-win clash with Sweden in Kiev as most of the Three Lions squad departed their Hotel Stary base in Krakow on Tuesday morning.

Some senior stars, including captain Steven Gerrard, Scott Parker, John Terry, Joe Hart and Ashley Cole, were left behind and rewarded with a rest day after arriving back in Poland in the early hours.

Manchester United striker Rooney, who watched from the bench during Monday's match in Donetsk, lead the players on board the bus although he has one more match to serve on his suspension.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott joined Rooney despite coming on as a late substitute against France but club-mate Alex Oxlade-Chambelain stayed behind along with goalscorer Joleon Lescott.

Liverpool frontman Andy Carroll, who did not manage to make it off the bench at the Donbass Arena, was involved as was Anfield colleague Stewart Downing along with Jordan Henderson.
