But in an interview in The Sun he said: ‘I’m not going to throw away my international career for anyone. 

‘I was baffled by these rumours  I even had players coming up saying they heard I was going to quit.

‘But I never considered it.  I was deeply disappointed by the FA’s decision, but sometimes you just have to accept these things and move on.’
