FA act at last! Redknapp and Hodgson set for approach... but Fabio's mega wages will be slashed

The back-up plan: Roy Hodgson is The FA's plan B for the England job
But there is a desire to have everything resolved by the end of the month, allowing Redknapp to finish the season with Tottenham before taking charge in time for the European Championship.
There is no great wish to see Stuart Pearce take the national team to a major tournament, despite the FA’s gratitude towards him for stepping into the role.
The FA would consider Euro 2012 valuable experience given the wish to see their next manager then take England to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
