Left out: Terry won't start against Spain

Rio Ferdinand, Anton Ferdinand's older brother, will not be not in the squad for the two friendlies but Capello denied that the former England captain's exclusion was because of fears that his selection might cause problems with Terry.

Capello cited Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who has said that the central defender needs more games before being fully back to his best, as a reason for excluding him.

England are left relying on the kids to take on Spain's world champions.
