It's assault: UEFA accuse Wayne Rooney as they ban him for first three Euro games
Kicking out: Rooney swung hit foot at opponent Miodrag Dzudovic

Once they have those — and they hope to receive the full explanation on Friday — they will have three days to appeal.

In a statement, UEFA said: ‘Today’s decision was taken in relation to the red card shown to Rooney for assault. The striker will be suspended from his country’s next three UEFA matches for which he would be eligible.’

The FA had hoped a dossier they sent to UEFA’s Swiss headquarters would limit the damage.
