Morison gets shirty at idea of a kit swap with England galacticos
Give me Mor: Steve Morison will be looking for more goals against England

Morison, 28, will complete a journey from non-League to the grandest stage of all in front of a packed house when he spearheads Gary Speed’s side against England.

But he will do so without coming over all starry-eyed.

You see, the only shirt the forward is interested in is the red one, as worn by John Charles and Ian Rush.

‘I won’t be swapping shirts,’ he said. ‘I did that with Millwall a couple of times, people I’d played with at youth level. But there’s no way I want to run over to someone and ask for their shirt.

'If someone wants mine, I’m more than happy to hand it over — but I’m not going to ask for theirs. My opinion is that if I’ve not known him off the pitch, why would I want his shirt?

‘You can’t go into these games, thinking, “Oh my gosh, it’s John Terry,” or swooning at the sight of Fernando Torres.

'If we are on the pitch at the same time, we are equals. There’s no right or wrong way. I’m not criticising anyone, it’s just the way I am.’
