Handy Andy: Terry Butcher has been clamouring for Andy Carroll to start against Wales
Bookings and bans
Ashley Cole, Ashley Young, Gareth Barry and Scott Parker are one booking away from a ban.
Capello's nature is not to prioritise next month ahead of tomorrow, but he will not relish the idea of going to Montenegro without Barry and Parker.
Jack Wilshere has been ruled out and the pair are intrinsic to the 4-2-3-1 formation and the counter-attacking style which worked so well in Bulgaria.
The Wales game is guaranteed to have a competitive edge. There were seven yellow cards in Cardiff in March and Parker's aggression means he is always susceptible to collecting cheap bookings from European referees, as he did in Sofia.
If we're being Frank...
If Capello does revert to a 4-3-3 formation, it brings Frank Lampard back into the equation, just four days after his England career was ended.
Capello will be careful not to chase Lampard out of the squad. There are already signs the Chelsea midfielder is thinking about where England fits in with the final years of his career.
In February, when he captained his country in Denmark, Lampard said he expected to serve his country like David Beckham, always available in whatever capacity, until he was no longer needed.
In July, however, during Chelsea's tour of Asia, his tone was slightly different and he said he understood why Paul Scholes and Ryan
Giggs had stepped away from international football to prolong their club careers.
Lampard may not be an automatic selection in midfield any longer, but he can still play a vital role in Euro 2012.
For one, there is his experience and professionalism around the camp. For two, if Capello needs a goal to save a game, it might be worth having the option of throwing on Lampard. For three, he can take a penalty.
