Olympic football team given OK but nobody tells Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish
In the swing of things: Redknapp has been mooted as a possible manager for Team GB

SFA chief executive Stewart Regan said: 'I sent Alex Horne (the FA general secretary) an email last night saying we could not support or endorse the Team GB, but we recognised we couldn't stand in the way of a player opting to play for Team GB. I asked if we could be kept in the loop so to see an announcement made today came as a shock. None of us knew this was going to happen.'

Jim Boyce, Britain's FIFA vice-president and former president of the Irish FA, said: 'The three associations have made it clear to me they will not be changing their decision.'
