Pure delight: Neville admits he has been struggling to contain his emotions

'It's good to have someone calming next to me, because I'm bobbing up and down like a cork really.'

Neville has been impressed by the affect Hodgson's calming influence has had on the squad.

He added: '(He) is calm, doesn't get carried away by things, brings a great deal of humility, trusts in his players and has faith in them and I think they are recognising that he is someone they like and want to play for.
