Schieber completes Dortmund switch

German double winners Borussia Dortmund further strengthened their squad on Thursday as they completed a deal to bring striker Julian Schieber to the club from VfB Stuttgart.

Schieber, 23, who was capped seven times by Germany at under-21 level, has agreed a four-year deal with Dortmund.

"We are pleased to have signed a young German player in Julian Schieber who fits perfectly into our team and has great prospects," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told his club's official website.

Schieber spent a season on loan with Nuremberg in 2010/11 before returning to Stuttgart, for whom he scored twice in a remarkable 4-4 draw at Dortmund in March.
The signing of Schieber follows the arrival of defender-cum-midfielder Oliver Kirch from Kaiserslautern, while German international Marco Reus agreed his transfer from Borussia Moenchengladbach back in January.

Juergen Klopp's side have however lost Japanese international star Shinji Kagawa, who was sold to Manchester United for a reported 12 million pounds ($18.4m) earlier this month.
