A deep corner from the right was headed back in to the mix by Bendtner and Michael Krohn-Dehli helped it in to the goal.

It was a dreadful goal to concede and the Germans’ defending was occasionally rather ordinary. Low’s team set about repairing the damage but as the game wore on — and news of Portugal’s lead against Holland filtered through — their place in the next round looked uncertain.
