Hamren’s senior players have recognised their weaknesses and some have privately indicated that Ibrahimovic was right to feel let down.
Midfielder Rasmus Elm said: ‘It’s hard to disagree with the coach. I am not sure if the coach actually used that word (cowards) but we have to accept his comments. If we play like that against England we have no chance.’
Elmander added: ‘We’ve been watching England and we like to play against you guys. We also like to fight, which is what English football is all about and that suits us very well.’
