WEL HAPPY ... Danny Welbeck is favourite to partner Ashley Young
DANNY WELBECK is set to get the nod ahead of Andy Carroll for England’s Euro 2012 opener against France.
Manchester United’s Welbeck has impressed Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson in training.
And he is likely to partner United pal Ashley Young up front for Monday’s crunch game in Donetsk.
Seven England players went to concentration camp Auschwitz yesterday.
Although first-choice keeper Joe Hart was keen to go, the others selected by the FA are unlikely to play on Monday.
Wayne Rooney, suspended for the first two games, went along with Hart, Carroll, Phil Jagielka, Jack Butland, Theo Walcott and Leighton Baines.
A total of 14 players made a separate visit to the former factory of Oskar Schindler in Krakow.
John Terry was among those who visited the factory, although he is still hoping to face France despite also suffering with a groin niggle along with his hamstring problem.
He was among nine England players who barely featured in training yesterday, although they will be put through their paces todays.
