Sunny side up ... Rio Ferdinand in Cyprus as England prepare for Euro 2012 without him
SOCCER star Rio Ferdinand tries to put his Euro 2012 disappointment behind him by sunning himself on holiday in Cyprus.
Wearing red flowery shorts, the Man United defender, 33, stretched out on a sun lounger and cooled off in the pool.
The 81-cap player was left out of the squad for Poland and Ukraine for what England boss Roy Hodgson called “footballing reasons”.
But observers claim it was due to brother Anton’s race allegation against John Terry.
Rio was overlooked again when Gary Cahill was ruled out with a broken jaw, in favour of Liverpool’s Martin Kelly.
But last night Rio tweeted: “#iMustSay the Rose’ wine has got me feeling niiiiiiiiice!”.
