It might be harder to watch England this summer than to beat them. Roy Hodgson’s side did not score highly for artistic impression at Wembley on Saturday but still managed to grind out their fourth 1-0 victory in five internationals.

On a positive front, Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck scored his first England goal with an excellent finish and is in pole position to start the Euro 2012 opener against France a week tomorrow as a lone striker.
