Liverpool's Pepe Reina is tipping his former team-mate Fernando Torres to be a source of goals for Spain in Euro 2012.
Remembered as a prolific scorer during his days at Liverpool, Torres had struggled to find form in front of goal after his move to Chelsea. However, his fortunes have improved at the tail end of this season, and the striker has found his way into Vicente Del Bosque's squad for Euro 2012.
Reina told BBC Sport that he was impressed with Torres in their recent training sessions, and he believes his compatriot has regained confidence at the right time.
"It's been a while since I've seen him like this, physically, he is in good shape," Reina shared.
"Mentally he feels he is an important player in the national team, all the more so since [David] Villa pulled out, and he relishes that role."
With Euro 2008 hero Villa ruled out of the upcoming tournament, the goalkeeper is hoping for Torres' strikes to lead Spain to glory this time round.
"He feels comfortable and he looks switched on. Hopefully, he will have a good European Championship and Spain will feed off his goals," Reina said.
