Micah Richards will not give up on his England career despite another big snub.

The Manchester City defender did not make Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2012 party, and it is believed he rejected a place on the five-man standby squad — which was only offered because Kyle Walker was ruled out.

Seemingly with that rejection in mind, Hodgson has handed Liverpool defender Martin Kelly a call-up for the friendly against Norway on Saturday.

So it has been a ‘deeply upsetting’ 10 days for Richards, which began when Hodgson failed to inform him personally of his omission from the squad, leaving it to the Under 21 boss Stuart Pearce, whose role with the seniors has been marginalised.
