Fifa agent Jorge Mendes has hailed Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho and striker Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that they are the best at what they do.

Mendes received on Friday the Necklace of Honour for Sporting Merit from the hands of the Portuguese government for his role in football over the years.

The Gestifute owner is hopeful that Portugal will scale great heights at Euro 2012 and did not forget in his acceptance speech to talk about Mourinho and Ronaldo, two of his biggest clients.

"I am proud to receive this award, it acknowledges my work over many years, but I owe everything to the coaches and players with whom I have worked," he told reporters.

"My dream now is that Portugal win Euro 2012. We are a reference in world football for the quality coaches and players that we have and for the fact that we have the best player in the world right now and, without a doubt, the best coach."
