Hodgson on his own on rest cure: England players holiday as rivals ready for Euro 2012

Time off: Roy Hodgson only has a finite period to get to know his squad
But the decision to give Rooney so much time off is baffling when his last game was on Sunday, as it was for Terry given his suspension for the clash in Munich.
John Ruddy, meanwhile, is the third-choice goalkeeper who has been given time off to get married when England play their second and final warm-up game against Belgium a fortnight on Saturday.
Heaven forbid Hodgson then needs Ruddy in Ukraine, given that he would have made one international appearance at most against Norway a week on Saturday.
