Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko says he has recovered from his health problems and will be fit to captain Ukraine at the Euros.

'I feel on good form. Nothing is bothering me now,' the 35-year-old forward said.

'My fitness is good. I hope to improve it even further during training.'

The news will serve as a boost to the co-hosts, as the country's all-time top scorer was considered to be a serious doubt for the finals.

'I will do my best to be on top form for the Euros,' he added.

However, the news may not be as well received in England.

Ukraine, along with Sweden and France, have been pitted in the same group as Roy Hodgson's men.

Although Shevchenko was considered a flop during his time at Chelsea, but he proved his quality while at AC Milan, where he scored 175 goals between 1999 and 2006.
