Russia coach Dick Advocaat will step down after Euro 2012, according to reports in the country.

The Dutchman's deal expires after the tournament in Poland and Ukraine and it has been claimed he will not take up an option for a further two years.

"After the European championship I'll go," Advocaat told the Sport-Express newspaper.

It is thought the 64-year-old, who succeeded countryman Guus Hiddink in the role in May 2010, fancies another crack at club management

"I can't tell you the reason yet but, knowing about all the speculation, I'll say right now it's not about the money," he added.

"I haven't told the players yet. I'm sure that this news won't influence our preparation for the Euros. We will make every effort to have a successful tournament."

The widely-travelled Advocaat has coached teams to domestic title success on four occasions, once each with PSV Eindhoven in Holland and Russia's Zenit St Petersburg and twice with Rangers in Scotland.

He has also had spells in charge of Holland, South Korea, United Arab Emirates and Belgium.
