Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is able to walk without crutches as he continues his recovery from ankle ligament damage.
The England international is keen to get back on the training pitch as soon as possible but insists that he is not specifically targeting a spot with the Three Lions at Euro 2012 this summer.
He said: "It's too early to say for England. We'll have to wait until I'm outside running and kicking a ball.
"The quicker I'm out on the pitch running, the quicker I can have an inkling about Euro 2012.
"But I am on the mend, can walk without crutches and have just started rehab work in the pool and also doing stuff in the gym as well."
Bent picked up the injury at Wigan in February and was initially expected to be out for the rest of the season and was made a major doubt for the tournament in Ukraine and Poland.
