Tottenham are ready to pay whatever it costs to land Jose Mourinho as their new manager if Harry Redknapp takes the England job.
Chairman Daniel Levy is thought to be driving a hard bargain with the FA to release Redknapp from his contract and is hopeful of hanging onto his manager.
But should Redknapp leave for England, Spurs have targeted Real Madrid boss Mourinho and will let the Portuguese name his price to move to north London.
The special one: Spurs are keen on Jose Mourinho
Mourinho has made clear his desire to move back to England and the Premier League in recent months and should Spurs qualify for the Champions League it is a job that is sure to attract the former Chelsea boss.
A return to Stamford Bridge is another possibility for Mourinho – who according to The Mirror flew back to London on Friday on a whistle-stop trip – but his fractured relationship with owner Roman Abramovich could prevent a return to West London.
