Arsenal and England cross fingers as Wenger reveals Wilshere is set for comeback

Jack Wilshere is on course for a return to action for Arsenal and England before the end of the season, according to Arsene Wenger.

The 20-year-old midfielder has not played at all this term after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.

But Gunners boss Wenger is now hoping the Wilshere can feature before the end of the current campaign with his side battling for a Champions League place.

And Wilshere's return would also be a huge boost to England, with the European Championship finals looming this summer in Poland and Ukraine.

Wenger revealed that Wilshere has begun light fitness training again but that the club would not be pushing their young playmaker for a quick return.
