RED FOR GO ... Ferdinand says Redknapp must be named England boss
RIO FERDINAND today reveals why Harry Redknapp is perfect for England.
The Manchester United ace was brought through the ranks by Redknapp at West Ham.
He told SunSport: "If I was the geezer in the suit upstairs making the decision, I would go and get Harry, without a doubt.
"When you play for him, he makes you feel like a million dollars."
Ferdinand, whose United side visit Redknapp's Spurs for the big Premier League clash tomorrow, believes his old manager has all the qualities England are looking for.
The FA expect to have a manager by the end of the Premier League season on May 13 and say there is more than one candidate.
General secretary Alex Horne seemed to indicate in an interview that they would wait until the season was over to appoint Fabio Capello's successor.
But, last night, the FA moved to clarify it would all be done by the final day.
Horne said: "We've got a list. Long, short — there's definitely a list.
"We're not rushing and expect something at the back end of the season."
If Redknapp leaves Spurs, Swansea chief Brendan Rodgers, Everton's David Moyes and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho are in the frame to replace him.
