Blow: Wilshere's problems affect both Arsene Wenger (left) and Fabio Capello
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hoped to have him back this month as he made promising progress with rehabilitation plan.
Sportsmail revealed on Saturday how Wilshere would not return until April at the earliest, but Wenger wanted to have the injury thoroughly examined before making a decision.
The news is also a massive blow to Fabio Capello, who wanted Wilshere as a key component of his plans for Euro 2012 glory this summer.
Even if he is fit enough to return before the end of the season, Wenger may decide not to play the youngster this season in a bid to ensure his fitness ahead of next season.
