Blow for Rooney and Wilshere as FA ban Euro 2012 squad from Olympics

Missing out: Rooney is banned for first two games of Euro 2012 and won't be selected for London Olympics
It does enhance the chances of David Beckham taking part, and possibly even Ryan Giggs. But Pearce has taken the view it is too much to ask players to appear at the Olympics when they start just 26 days after the Euro 2012 final on July 1.
On the FA website last night the governing body said: ‘Players who take part in Euro 2012 will not be selected for Team GB.’
