England are too tired to win anything! Mancini fumes at fixture list
Congested: City only played Liverpool on Sunday

‘It’s not correct. Not so much for us but for the players. It’s not right. But we’ll go there and try to win it, of course.’

Mancini and Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish may have been at odds over Mario Balotelli’s dismissal at Anfield on Sunday but they are united in the view that too much is being asked of their squads. Mancini is already fearful about City’s schedule over Christmas.

‘I don’t know who to blame,’ he said. ‘The Premier League should have said something about this. It’s important to play but it’s also important to recover.

‘You need three days between one game and the other. We’ll have the same in January when we play Sunderland (New Year’s Day) and then Liverpool two days later.

‘Liverpool play three days before us (against Newcastle at Anfield). Is this correct? I don’t think so. It’s incredible. It’s a quarter-final.’
