Liverpool have beaten Chelsea to sign teenager Oluwaseyi Ojo from MK Dons.

Sportsmail revealed last month how Chelsea had agreed a £2million fee for the 14-year-old.

Chelsea were confident they had won the race to sign Ojo after agreeing a deal with the League One side but Liverpool have pipped them to the England Under 16 midfielder.

And sources close to Ojo have told Sportsmail the teenager feels he will have more chance of breaking into the first team at Anfield.

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman said: 'This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Seyi and his parents which has proved far too difficult to turn down. Everyone at the club would like to wish Seyi the best of luck and we all look forward to the day he runs out at Anfield.'

Liverpool are also maintaining an interest in Wycombe Wanderers striker Jordan Ibe, 15.

They face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
