John Terry gagged by FA over racism row
SILENT TREATMENT ... John Terry

JOHN TERRY will speak publicly today for the first time since his race row with Anton Ferdinand kicked off.

But the England skipper has been ordered NOT to answer any questions about his alleged racist comments to the QPR defender.

Extra FA officials will be on hand at his captain's Press conference to block all queries they do not like.

The FA will not even allow Terry to discuss the reception he expects to receive before tomorrow's clash with Sweden.

Or the mixed treatment he had at last Saturday's match against Spain in the wake of the explosive Loftus Road bust-up on October 23, which cops and the FA are still investigating.

Terry will talk at the England team hotel in Hertfordshire, as will boss Fabio Capello.

The Chelsea centre-back, who will definitely start at a half-full Wembley tomorrow, was greeted with a mixture of cheers and jeers from fans when he warmed up on the touchline ahead of the 1-0 win over Spain.

He is likely to receive a similarly mixed response when his name is read out prior to the start against the Scandinavians.

Phil Jagielka withdrew from the squad last night due to his broken toe, though Capello was always set to partner Terry with Gary Cahill.

Bobby Zamora is likely to start up front, with Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge playing out wide.

Fulham striker Zamora said: "I'm ready."

Tottenham's Kyle Walker is set for the right-back berth, Everton's Leighton Baines could replace Ashley Cole at left-back and Jack Rodwell also hopes to start in midfield.
