Fabio Capello: Scott Parker was incredible
GREAT SCOTT ... Parker gets to grips with Spanish star Juan Mata

FABIO CAPELLO hailed 'incredible' Scott Parker after England shocked Spain.

The Tottenham midfielder, 31, was named Man of the Match for his all-action display at Wembley.

And England boss Capello said: "Scott Parker had an incredible performance.

"He is improving every game and he is a really important player for the back four when they receive the ball."

Parker was delighted with the Three Lions' efforts.

He said: "It was a tough game and I think the stats will probably favour Spain today but ultimately, we've got the result.

"It was very, very pleasing. We were very solid. We limited them to very few chances.

"They had a lot of possession at times, proved they have got some real, real class.

"But we defended very well and obviously we tried to hit them on the break.

"The one positive thing is we stuck together. It was a good team performance and when you play against Spain, you have no doubt that they're going to have a lot of the ball."

Chelsea star Frank Lampard, 33, scored the only goal but Capello was more pleased with England's youngsters.

The Italian added: "The most important thing I saw was the performance of Jack Rodwell, Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck and Kyle Walker.

"They are really good young players. I think these players will be very important for the Euros because I saw they played without fear.

"They played with personality and physically and technically I can see they are good to play with the seniors."
