Posted Saturday, November 12, 2011 by Dailymail

England players and coaching staff held a two minutes' silence in the Wembley centre circle in honour of Armistice Day before undertaking their final training session ahead of the friendly with Spain.

Fabio Capello stood shoulder to shoulder with under-fire captain John Terry who is the subject of ongoing investigations into whether he racially abused Anton Ferdinand.

Following a protracted row with FIFA, England's footballers will be allowed to wear poppies for Saturday's match at Wembley.

The world governing body reluctantly bowed to mounting pressure to permit the team to display the symbol to mark Remembrance Day – but only if it is printed on black armbands.

The FA have announced a number of other ways they will also mark Remembrance Day.

They will place a poppy wreath on the pitch during the national anthems and there will be a one-minute silence ahead of kick-off.
