Former England international Stuart Pearce was named as the coach of Britain's Olympic football team on Thursday.
Pearce, who is currently an assistant to England manager Fabio Capello and coach of England's Under-21 side, was unveiled at a morning news conference at Wembley.
Former England international Hope Powell was named as coach of the women's team for the 2012 Games.
The participation of British football teams at the Olympics has been opposed by the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish associations, who fear it may undermine their independent status in the international game.
