With many clubs facing uncertain financial futures and UEFA's financial fair play rules due to come into effect at the start of the 2013-14 season, the FA are being urged to ensure clubs are being financially responsible.

Sports minister Hugh Robertson said: 'This is an opportunity for football to sort this out for itself. They have until the end of February to do so, otherwise we will introduce legislation to require them to make the necessary changes.'
