Newcastle replace Carroll at last! Liverpool and Toon legends recreate 4-3 epic from '96

The match was held to raise funds for NSPCC, CHUF, Alan Shearer Centre, Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and NE Children’s Charity Pathways.

Newcastle opened the scoring thanks to Steve Watson but McManaman hit back to level the scores.

Liverpool pulled clear and led 3-1 when the Magpies were awarded a penalty only for Toon legend Shearer to miss from the spot. Liverpool then scored a spot-kick of their own to wrap up a 4-1 victory.
