SKIP, SKIP HOORAY ... John Terry
JOHN TERRY says it will a "dream come true" to finally lead England into a major tournament.
Fabio Capello's men tonight booked their ticket to the Euro 2012 finals with a 2-2 draw in Montenegro.
Terry was stripped of the armband before last year's World Cup — only to win it back in March. And the Chelsea man revealed his pride at getting a second bite of the cherry.
He said: "That's been and gone, all forgotten about and I'm looking forward to leading England into a major tournament.
"It's a dream come true."
England only needed a point to qualify for the finals — and looked nailed on when Ashley Young and Darrent Bent fired the Three Lions into a two-goal lead.
Incredibly, they nearly blew it. Wayne Rooney saw red for a mad kick at Montenegro star Miodrag Dzudovic and the hosts went on to grab a dramatic last-gasp leveller.
Yet Terry added: "We're a litte bit disappointed — after being 2-0 up — to go on and draw the game.
"We're happy so to be through, though."
Rooney now faces a one-game ban, starting at the finals in Poland and Ukraine next summer.
But Terry said: "It's one of these things, they had a bit of a tussle. We're happy with it."
