Wayne Rooney has pledged to go for the burn in his bid to taste glory with England at Euro 2012.
Manchester United striker Rooney, 25, is in the form of his life and, with a long season ahead, there have been fears that the Old Trafford hotshot would have a flat battery when it comes to Three Lions duty next summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson has the luxury of being able to rest Rooney for certain fixtures and the forward acknowledges this is a sensible ploy.
But Rooney, expected to be in the England side to visit Montenegro on Friday night, said: “I understand there are games during the season when you need to sit it out and take the rest but, as a football player, you want to play all the games that you can. I’ve no worries about burn-out or anything like that.
“The last few games Sir Alex has wanted to rotate the players a lot, so there may be times I end up out on the left or out on the right or a bit deeper than a centre-forward.
"He wants us to have rotation and movement because if we do rotate well then sometimes you don’t know where you’re going to end up, so the defenders certainly won’t know.”
