Plenty of options: Capello shares a joke with Sir Trevor Brooking at Wembley
'If he wants to be a good player and a good sportsman, he needs to drink less than the others,' he said. 'I spoke with him. He understands a lot but he is young. We need to help him.'
One member of the Welsh camp sprung a surprise on Monday when he publicly declared a desire to stand alongside some of Tuesday night's opponents in next summer's Olympics.
The Football Association of Wales, along with their counterparts in Scotland and Northern Ireland, are opposed to supporting a Great Britain team because they fear it might threaten their independence.
But Wales captain Aaron Ramsey said: 'Given the opportunity, I'd like to play in the Olympics. And I know Gareth feels the same.'
Meanwhile, England captain John Terry has dismissed claims by Gary Neville that Liverpool might have thrown a game against Chelsea to prevent Manchester United from winning the title. 'I don't agree with that at all,' said Terry.
