McClaren set to quit Forest after just five league games over transfer row
Oh what a night: The former England boss has been repairing his reputation

McClaren is well aware - despite considerable success on the continent with FC Twente in Holland - that his stock is low in this country.

He has the financial means to walk away if unhappy with the responses he receives from Forest owner Doughty and chief executive Mark Arthur.

McClaren will seek clarification of their intentions when he is able to enter the emergency loan market later this month before deciding whether to stay.
