Raul hails 'greatest influence' Fabio Capello and tells England to expect Euro 2012 glory
‘When objectives are not achieved there is no patience to keep working on the project, but now they have found the key person. And I think Jose Mourinho is there for as long as he wants to be; two, three or four years, whatever he wants.’

Raul is aware that his appreciation of Capello might not extend to everyone.

He says: ‘Our meeting came at a crucial stage of my career. Perhaps for other players who were already more mature it was not such a big thing but for me it was invaluable.

‘I also thought he would take England further in the World Cup, but he is a winner. It’s possible that with so many expectations the first time things broke down, so it will be the European Championship where England fulfil their potential.

‘He needs patience. You have to keep the faith. I think Spain will win the tournament but maybe the second team this time will be England.’
