John Terry has bullishly challenged his England team-mates to confront him face-to-face if they have an issue with him being reinstated as skipper of the national team.

Terry met the media for the first time since Fabio Capello made his controversial decision to hand him back the armband 13 months after stripping him of the captaincy.

And while he expressed his displeasure at what he clearly believes has been a whispering campaign against him, the Chelsea defender said he would respect players who objected to the move by telling him personally.

Capello called his players together before training at London Colney to inform them of his decision to make Terry the permanent captain for the remainder of the European Championship campaign.
