Capello can hit Jackpot! Now is the time for Fabio to unleash Wilshere as new Gazza
The England manager will take a particular interest in his performances against Barcelona when Arsenal meet them in the Champions League - see how he measures up against Xavi and Co.

There will be one crucial difference, however. Arsene Wenger will not ask Wilshere to perform the role Capello spoke of prior to the friendly at the Parken Stadium.

The defensive responsibilities will lie more with Alex Song, even if Wilshere will still be expected to provide protection as well as arm Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott with the precision of his passing.

Reflecting on the 2-1 win in Denmark, Capello insisted Wilshere can still become his midfield holder. 'He can play for me in this position,' he said.

But even in the mind of the Italian there was an element of doubt. An acknowledgement that he might be trying to drive a square peg into a round hole.

'I hope he can do it,' he said. 'It also depends on which position he plays with Arsenal. I will follow a lot of the games he plays.
